Building Healthy Relationships

Why I decided never to use my computer or electronics at home...

Why I decided never to use my computer or electronics at home...

There were some years in my past, were I got away from church. I felt i didn't needed it and I decided to live my life without taking God in consideration.

That, even though it felt ideal at the time ( because I felt I didn't need God), made me feel out of place, it made me feel like I was lost, and I didn't even know who I truly was. I wasn't making good decisions, I was being a woman that I didn't truly want to be, and in the process, I hurt people i cared about and became a not such amazing version of myself.

Even though in the last couple of years I started going back to church, it wan't until earlier this year, that I started feeling the need to be deeply involved with church. I felt like I needed God to take my heart back to where was supposed to be and Oh my! He sure did!

It's amazing the big changes a heart can have when touched by God. I have no words to express how humbled I feel every morning I wake up and I look around.

I feel humbled and grateful because God has given me so much more than I have ever dreamed of this year.  I have a home, a family, my dream job, and he gave me the confidence to love myself more than i've ever done before. He gave me the strength to find myself again, to build a better version of me, more patient, more caring, more giving and more humble, as well as the peace that my heart so desperately needed.

Sometimes I really wish I had a time machine... I wish I could turn back time and heal people's hearts, and make their lives better. But as I can't, I can only help you and others to find God so you can find happiness too and you can become a better version of yourself.

Here's one little tip for happiness that pastor Rick Warren shared on his book The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here for? that I think will help you be the best version of yourself, and that also inspired me to get rid of all my electronics ( or have them turned off) at home, so I can also be the best for those around me.

“Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can't make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you'll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.
It is not enough to just say relationships are important; we must prove it by investing time in them. Words alone are worthless. "My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action." Relationships take time and effort, and the best way to spell love is "T-I-M-E.”

― Rick Warren

I learned that where I focus my attention is where I'm putting my heart, so I decided I would give my heart to those around me so I can build the healthiest, strongest, most beautiful relationships with those who I love.

I would love for you to hear these sermons by Rick Warren, that will help you do the same with your family and close friends.

I hope you enjoy and that you too can be the happiest version of yourself!

ps. If you feel like learning more about this topic I highly suggest that you read this book. It's truly amazing!
